Mark your calendars! On Thursday, November 26th Dr. Daniel Stolarski will headline our next PnP: "Searching for Dark Matter with Emerging Jets"! Abstract: Motivated by the possibility of an excess of dark matter over dark anti-matter, I will describe a new object that can arise at high energy colliders such as the LHC that I have termed emerging jets. An... emerging jet is completely invisible when it is created, but its energy slowly emerges into visible particles as it travels through the detectors at the LHC. I will describe strategies that can be used to discover emerging jets even if they are produced very rarely, and describe the experimental searches that were inspired by my work.
