Country Proud! A large fire west of Fort Macleod last night had numerous resources of our local Fire Departments on scene doing what they do very well and we th...ank them for their willingness to always respond and to put their personal safety in harms way. We thank them for their service last night and always. We express our sincere regret to the farm operation that suffered such a terrible loss of property last evening. In the best of times it is difficult to find our way through the many challenges that businesses must do - to add one more challenge like this must seem insurmountable. But in the country we carry one another’s burdens. Our fire responders often witness this characteristic of our rural residents - where equipment of all shapes and sizes arrives at fires to provide whatever aid they can. Such was the case last night where a line of water trucks dozens deep showed up to assist with the fire response. Country people doing what they have always done - coming to the aid of their friends and neighbours in time of need. In a day and age where people often focus first on themselves we can truly say that is not the case in Willow Creek and we thank each of you for this. We truly live in a great community.

And here comes the hard stuff
