My favourite rescue, Dancing Rabbit Refuge, is closing it doors. I decided to set up a farewell fund requesting $5 from each person that was rewarded from Lisa ...Voss Bruce 's selfless kindness, and for anyone that hasn't donated to a charity this year, this would be an excellent start :) There will be special needs bunnies remaining in her care which will continue to have medical bills. As a reminder, these are all rabbits that our species chose to neglect or dump and leave the responsibility to the empathetic people that rescue. Please donate by etransfer [email protected] or directly to Campus Estates in Guelph. (Image from Canadian Artist Rose Pearson) See more
A friend and long time supporter has posted about ongoing donations. I will continue to incur many expenses for the refuge bunnies that are remaining with me. Particularly our resident dental bunnies: Andy, Stormy, and Noah. Donations can still be made directly to Campus Estates by calling 519-837-1212 or through eTransfer to [email protected]. Our email address will remain operational. Thank you Jeanne
It’s time to go. Time for me. Time to see where life takes me. Time to close the doors and open myself to the rest of my journey. It is with sadness, joy, a little fear, and so many memories of wonderful rabbits and wonderful people that I have come to the decision to close Dancing Rabbit Refuge. To take time to focus on the rabbits already in my care (and there are quite a few) and give them the time and attention they deserve. But, also, to focus on living my best life. T...o take care of my mental and physical health. To step away from social media and to be more present. I cannot even begin to express my gratitude to all those that have been a part of this journey: the financial donors, volunteers, fosters, adopters, fellow rescue groups, and those willing to crawl through bushes and parking lots and even cross some lines to save a life. A huge thank you to Campus Estates Animal Hospital for their excellent and continued service and care. Thank you as well to Waterloo West Animal Hospital who have also been so kind. I will be turning off commenting and messaging at the end of the month. Adoption contracts still stand and adopters can reach me privately. It has been quite the dance. ~ Lisa

Congratulations girls! Pearl and Stone’s wonderful new family came all the way from the Ottawa area, on this very blustery day, to bring them home. Thank you to everyone that helped these sweet sisters journey from their before to their happily ever after.
Little John has come so far in a few months! Not only is he coming out of his shell and becoming more confident and social but look at the physical differences! His fur has grown back in and he is sitting with correct confirmation instead of with his back legs all winky after being confined to a tiny out door hutch most of his life. Little John is a two year old neutered male looking for his forever home. He came from a farm where they were trying repeatedly and unsuccessful...ly to breed HER. They claimed SHE was impossible to handle and fought with the males and never got pregnant. OMG poor Little John being thrown in with various males in hopes they would breed. The fights must have been horrific. Little John will need a patient home that can spoil him as a single bun or a home with experience with bonding to slowly introduce him to an easy going spayed female. Please send me a message if you are interested in more information or an adoption application.
Congratulations Jimmy! What a treat for Jimmy to go to his absolute perfect forever home today! Thank you Elysha and Emma for welcoming this sweet boy into your hearts and home. Thank you to fosters Dee & Dean for once again helping us save a life. You are awesome
Congratulations Jorgi! This sweet boy came to us from a high volume shelter, in Quebec. And now he is a spoiled house bun living a life filled with love. A huge thank you to Stephen for welcoming Jorgi into his home and family. Wishing you both all the best
