Emotional intelligence skills are critical for building relationships and strong teams, resolving conflict, solving problems, leading effectively and building resilience. I’m excited to share that I have spent the past week pursuing certification for EQ-i 2.0. While I’ve been leveraging emotional intelligence for some time, the EQ-i 2.0 tool will provide me with an excellent opportunity to have well-structured conversations with clients and help them understand their emotion...al intelligence and competencies by providing a picture of how they operate emotionally, their areas of strength and potential areas for development. Learn how you can build leadership strategies for bringing your EQ competencies into balance for greater effectiveness and significantly improve your well-being, workplace and leadership performance as well as interpersonal relationships and communication. If you're want to know why EQ I2.0 is the tool for you, send me a direct message to learn more. #coaching #EQi #growthmindset #emotionalintelligence #leadership #resilience #performance #interpersonal #competencies #effectiveness

How well do we deal with setbacks in our life, or with day to day situations altogether? Our inner critic can throw us off course and not only can it affect our day, it can turn into a habit and impact our life stance completely. But if we learn to manage it, we can start dealing with challenges and adversity constructively, and that can help us become better and more effective. Research shows that people who are optimists handle adversity and change more effectively than tho...se who are pessimists. It can be challenging to learn to do this consistently but if we get into the habit of mastering it, it can become as easy as 1,2,3 or actually, A-B-C. When you encounter adversity, how you explain it to yourself has a direct impact on your mindset and on your relationships. If your inner critic starts chatting incessantly, what Dr. Seligman calls our explanatory style, introducing all sorts of possible outcomes filled with worry and fear, it can turn you into a pessimistic person. But we can take steps to develop a more positive mindset by controlling our explanatory style. When you are more intentional and aware, you can start changing your perspective, managing your iner critic and developing a positive mindset. And that can help you develop into a better version yourself today and every day going forward. Like gravity, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is a powerful grounding force and can be more important to our survival than IQ. Understanding and using the theory of EQ can be complex; that’s why I developed the 4s and 4s, to help us find a way to apply Emotional Intelligence to our everyday life. The 4s and 4s allow us to harness the necessary emotions to cultivate productivity, build positive relationships and become more inspiring and effective leaders. The 4s are:... 1 iagnose, the stage of introspecting on our values and who we are 2 etermine, the act of validating our diagnosis through real-world experiences 3 evelop a plan of action 4 o, the process of actually changing our behaviours and getting things done The 4s are: 1 isten to discover others 2 earn about others’ needs, stressors and motivators 3 ove, the act of accepting others and building respect for everyone 4 ead from the heart with compassion In conclusion, the 4s and the 4s help us sharpen our emotional intelligence and become more resilient individuals, develop a greater sense of self-awareness and an awareness of others. Spoiler alert: watch till the end for the bloopers #emotionalintelligence #EQ #leadership #behaviours Video credit: Hadi Hammoud

To learn something new, first listen, observe then act. It’s that simple. Increasing our emotional intelligence is about understanding ourselves, the environment and the people around us. Putting that knowledge to good use means taking action after true understanding and observation. Remember the simple rule:... 1 Listen 2 Observe 3 Act That’s how you turn a piece of coal into a priceless diamond. #emotionalintelligence #empathy #leadershipmindset #listen #knowyourself #knowledge #power #effectivecommunication

Our mindset can greatly affect not only our career, but our ability to grow and exceed our own expectations, to impact those around us with positivity and authentic meaning and to help us overcome challenges so that we can spiral to new accomplishments. Do you see your work as a job, a career or a calling? According to Shawn Achor in The Happiness Advantage, seeing our work as a calling not only contributes to the greater good, but it also draws on our personal strengths, giv...es us meaning and purpose and allows us to get further ahead. Keep this in mind the next time you approach any activity, personal or professional. #leadership #thehappinessadvantage #authenticself #desire2lead
