Announced today Registered Massage Therapist’s are included in BC’s phase 2 of returning to work. I am eagerly awaiting more information from the College of Massage Therapist on protocols to ensure continued safety as we make this transition. Covid-19 - UPDATE - March 30th As many of you know I closed my practice March 17th due to the physical distancing recommendations from our regulating body the CMTBC. A few days later the Provincial Health Officer ordered that all Massage Therapy Clinics close. It is important that each of us does what we can to flatten the curve and slow the spread of COVID-19. This includes physical distancing measures and staying at home when we can. The close one-on-one contact of massag...e therapy and that most often our care is not considered critical means we must take precaution and keep our practices closed at this time. While I had hoped to re-open the clinic on April 1st this does not look like it will be the case. I am cancelling all appointments between April 1st and April 30th and turning off online booking at this time. I will reassess this choice on a weekly basis as new information presents itself from the Provincial Health Officer. Should I be able to open any time sooner, I will send out another update to that effect and turn online booking availability back on. I am wishing each of you the very best of health as we adjust to these new normals with physical distancing, self-isolation and working from home. I look forward to seeing you in person on the other side of this, and I appreciate you doing everything in your power to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. Well folks look like my update yesterday about reduced hours is no longer enough. The College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia has suggested RMT’s suspend their practice for 2 weeks. With this recommendation I have decided to close the office starting tomorrow. I hope to re-open beginning April 1st! Please check my website or online booking for further updates. I have waited to post anything about this but I guess it is time... Covid-19 Policies - There is a lot of information out there regarding the coronavirus and how to reduce its spread. At this time I have decided to remain available for limited appointments as long as I stay healthy and it continues to benefit clients. I thank you in advance for your understanding as I may have to postpone or change some appointments to limit my time in the office. I have always followed str...ict sterilization protocols in my treatment room and I am taking additional measures to prevent the spread of germs and viruses throughout the office and shared spaces. This will include a no hand-shake and a hand washing/sanitizer policy upon arrival at the office and at the end of your appointment. Please stay in contact regarding your appointments - if you are having any symptoms or do not feel comfortable leaving your home there will be no cancellation fees at this time. Please do what is best for you and your health. If you have travelled outside Canada please refrain from booking an appointment for 14 days upon arriving back home. Homecare - If there is anything I can do remotely to help support your recovery/health as an RMT or as a community member please do contact me - I can help provide exercise and/or other recommendations to continue your care at home.
