We are BEYOND thrilled to be able to announce that classes (IN PERSON) will resume on Monday Feb 8th!! . We are so PROUD of everyone (parents, Dance Safe Alberta, teachers, kids) for all of the work that went into getting studios open again. It's been a tough and long road but WE ALL DID IT!! . We are PROUD of our staff who have continued to show up and make the best out of a crummy situation that was out of our control. ... . And... we are so PROUD of ALL of our dancers who have continued to push through. You guys are INCREDIBLE humans! . Hilary Schmidt-Johnson - Hip Hop, Tap, Contemporary, Jazz, Lyrical Miss Hilary is an alumni of The Source Dance Company in Vancouver, was a finalist on So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and also teaches Grade 5 at Whispering Ridge. She LOVES the Hip Hop and is one of the coolest cats around. .... Julia Friesen-Jones - Ballet, Contemporary Miss Julia holds her Associate Diploma in Cecchetti Ballet as well as her Bachelor of Arts in Dance (Specialization Ballet). She has been teaching for over 10 years and loves setting Choreography as well as teaching technique and entering kids in their exams. . Sabrina Viegas - Jazz Miss Sabrina is another one that LOVES Jazzing. She danced and trained at the GPDA, has been teaching for years, and she has the BEST energy around. She’s Jazzy at night but by day she’s a Dental Hygenist. . . I can’t tell you enough how much all of us appreciate each and every one of you. You constantly amaze and inspire us. Jillian Schmidt-Levesque - Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary Miss Jillian is also an alumni of The Source Dance Company in Vancouver, danced with two Pro Hip Hop crews, and has her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. She LOVES making the rhythms and we LOVE listening to them. .... Nancy-Marie Rigler - Ballet Mrs. Rigler holds her Adv. registration status with the RAD and has been entering dancers in exams for over 30 years. She is also a Practical Teaching supervisor for RAD and holds her Silver Swan Licentiate. She trained at the National Ballet School of Canada, as well as other institutions. . Camryn Winnicky-Lewis - Musical Theatre Miss Camryn has been in many Grande Prairie productions, including Little Women The Musical, Mamma Mia! High School Musical Jr., and The Addams Family. She always has fun lessons, creative ideas, and lots of energy in all of her classes. . Jacqueline Taylor - Modern, Pilates, Ballet Ms. Taylor is RAD certified, Stott Pilates certified, ACE certified, and will be Melt method certified this April. Wow! STAFF GROUP #4 . Kathy Stadnyk - Acro, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical Miss Kathy is a certified Acrobatic Arts teacher. She was published as a fitness model for Canadian Women’s Magazine and has also performed with Bob McGrath from Sesame Street. She LOVES getting the kids to flip upside down. .... Melissa Nonkovic - Jazz, ADAPT syllabus Miss Melissa danced with Princess Cruise Lines for two years. She has a Bachelor of Human Resource Management with Distinction, and is certified in Pilates, Barre, ADAPT, and CDTA. Holy moly!! . Declan Groff - Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Preschool Miss Declan has been teaching for 3 years. She’s creative and fun and always well prepared. She LOVES cute ideas and is constantly trying to think of the next cute one. She would love to further her dance training in Vancouver next year so she can have a long career in dance. . We do have one more staff member without a picture. It’s Ava Peebles! @ava.lynn10 (Her picture is coming, she was just unable to make it to the picture day). Miss Ava teaches a PreKinder Ballet class for us while she continues her own dance training with us and The Academy program through Charles Spencer. Some GREAT NEWS to share with everyone! DDC followed all Covid guidelines so this year RAD Ballet exams were recorded and sent in to RAD headquarters. Mrs. Rigler has just received the results and all the dancers were successful with 12 of the 16 candidates receiving Distinction! WOW! Way to go kids!
