You are not failing, this is hard! Being a mom is hard, parenting is hard. There are moments of pure joy and happiness, and moments of depletion and overwhelm. So often when we have those moments where we’re not feeling positive, we can feel like failures. Shame and guilt then set it and we feel like a bad mother.... It’s been a while since I introduced myself, so let me do that now! My name is Leah (pronounced Lee). I am a mama to a spirited 8 year old daughter and a soft and sensitive 6 year old son. I am married, and have been for almost 9 years. We live in beautiful, Chilliwack, BC, along with our 3 dogs I started my business 4 years ago under a different name, Indigo Awakening, and realized that my true calling is to work with moms, so Divine Mama was born.... I struggled with Postpartum Depression & Anxiety, along with a life threatening complication after the birth of my now 8 year old. It rocked me, and had me questioning everything in my life. I was incredibly anxious and was having scary intrusive thoughts. I did not find much joy in those first months, and then the grief and anger came because I felt like I had missed out, and felt like a bad mom. It was isolating and I didn’t know how to crawl out of my misery. I joined a peer support group for women experiencing PPD/A through a local non-profit, and it was a lifesaver for me. There is something magical that happens when women come together to support one another. I also work part-time for this same organization now. I have studied for many years in the healing arts, and want to create that safe space for you to feel heard, and to facilitate your healing. I mainly use EFT Tapping, along with herbal medicine, Aromatherapy, spiritual work, meditation, Reiki, Shamanic work, among other healing modalities. My mission with Divine Mama is to empower new moms to trust their inner knowing and find peace & joy in the transformation of becoming a mother.
