I would like to thank a very dear person I met today, Line Merineau!!! On my way to Turkey, I took the Via Rail train from Ottawa to Pierre Trudeau Airport. I have forgotten my Macbook and laptop on the train destined from Ottawa to Quebec City. I was so lucky to encounter Line who was in charge at the Via Rail Dorval station. She immediately called the Via Rail personel on the moving train and asked my forgotten items to be handed over to Stephane at the Via Rail Montreal station. Stephane received my belongings and found a cab driver who would bring them to me at the Dorval Station. Meanwhile Line offered me a tasty cup of coffee. I want to extend my appreciation to all three Via Rail personel, who have been very kind and helpful above and beyond their duties. Special people make this world special!

Ottawa, February 12, 2021 As part of the Government’s efforts to support international students, the Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, today announced further measures to ensure that international students won’t miss out on opportunities after they graduate due to the pandemic. With the prospect of many international students continuing online learning from abroad for several more months, temporary changes to the PGWP Progra...m put in place earlier in the pandemic are being extended and expanded. These measures will assist international students by ensuring that studies completed outside Canada will count towards a future PGWP, and by allowing international students to complete their entire program online from abroad and still be eligible for a PGWP. The measures apply to all international students who are enrolled in a PGWP-eligible program, and meet all other PGWP criteria.
