For the last election, Assembly of First Nations/Assemblee des premieres Nations was a strong educational force for electors, as they shared our social media content and thousands of hardcopy products. They also helped inform us about the needs of Indigenous electors through ongoing consultations. Follow Assembly of First Nations/Assemblee des premieres Nations today to learn more!
For the last election, People First of Canada developed important products like this voting support flyer and hosted several town halls and voting simulations that provided invaluable experiences and sources of information for Canadian electors. Canadians with intellectual disabilities face unique barriers to voting. People First of Canada is an integral partner in helping us understand and reduce those barriers. Give People First of Canada a follow today!
Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities Inc. delivered several workshops on our accessible voting services to Manitobans with disabilities. They provided hundreds of electors with the important info they needed to work, register and vote in a federal election. #DYK ? To help keep the vote-by-mail system secure , eligible Canadian electors must apply to vote by mail and provide documents proving their identity. We then validate each applicant’s information before accepting or not their request. https://www.elections.ca/content.aspx
Elections Canada does not use Dominion Voting Systems. We use paper ballots counted by hand in front of scrutineers and have never used voting machines or electronic tabulators to count votes in our 100-year history. #CdnPoli
