Introducing....one of our full time CCAs!!! My name is Cathy Perrin. I was born and raised in Virden MB, I moved to Elkhorn in 2007. I am married to Scott Perrin, and we have two children. I have been in the child care field for the last 5 years, I worked in Elkhorn Tiny Tots preschool for two years, and then in 2017 I starting working as a Child care assistant at Funshine Early Learning Centre in Virden until March 2020. In my free time I enjoy being with my family and friends, reading, camping in the summer, and in the winter I like to do puzzles when I am not at the skating rink, watching my children play hockey.

We are getting so close!! We only have one government check left that needs to be completed!! Stay tuned for our virtual open house (Covid) and for our OPENING DATE!!! We are beyond excited to see children in the daycare!

Creating a safe, functional, fun outdoor space from a back alley and an empty lot (donated by FLBSD) was no small task. EELC was so lucky that Boyd Canart, from Canart Backhoe, agreed to take on the job! Boyd, Robby Petters, and Perry Palahicky did all the stump removal and dirt work. They also installed the chain link fence purchased from Twin Valley Co-op Ltd Elkhorn. Midwestern Redi-Mix provided all the sand and smaller rocks. Thank you 3DI for transporting the massive rocks from Cousins Farms to the center. Much of the labour and supplies were donated or sold at cost. We sincerely hope we haven't forgotten to thank person or business that was involved in this project. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the people who helped with this huge undertaking!!

ISO: The Elkhorn Daycare is looking for: - gently used crib sheets - towels/sheets to be cut up into rags - musical instruments - soft balls/soccer balls ... - throw pillows - bean bags chairs - rocking horses - used tractor tire (back yard) - soft blocks - paint shirts (cloth/water proof) - art supplies - playdoh toys - potatoe head - puzzles - kids size cleaning supplies (mop, broom, etc) - small LEGO - tarps (used in outside play space) If anyone has any of these items they wish to get rid of or donate to the center, we’d be happy to take them off your hands!!!

So much work has been done and we are about ready to roll! We just need to get several inspections done and then we can start operating!! Exciting times!!

We would like to thank Kaileigh Kyle (and maybe a helper or two) for all her hard work in cleaning the daycare for us after all the construction and work that has been done!! We are very excited to see it clean and ready for furniture and toys to start filling the rooms!
