What’s the first step to healing? Remove! Before seeking out what you should be adding to your life, first remove the things that are keeping you from bette...r health & making it hard for cells to function properly. What sort of things should be removed? Toxins! Conventionally farmed produce is normally heavily sprayed to keep insects and rodents away but these chemicals can cause some serious damage to your health, especially your hormones. (Even when the peel is rinsed, pesticides seep into the fruit) Buying organic means you are heavily decreasing your exposure to hormone disrupting chemicals. But sometimes it can be a little pricey. Enter the Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen! These are up to date lists of produce to absolutely buy organic and which produce you can get away with buying conventional. In order to attain health, you first have to give up the things that are making you sick.

Sometimes my arms get tired.. When it comes to health and fitness, what’s your WHY? If you’re not feeling the way you want to feel then first figure out how you want to feel and what you want to be able to do/accomplish. Then write down why. Why is it important and what will it mean to you?... Circus training is a big why for me. Why do I want an abundance of energy, strong muscles, and good mobility? It makes my circus training easier and more fun!! I get to explore new shapes and I have the stamina and confidence to trust my body as I play and interact with the metal hoop. I have loved every step of the learning process and I’m excited to keep going and see what I’m capable of. And in order to do that I have to keep health & fitness a priority. What’s your why?

The importance of the Nervous System on our entire body! Check out the difference between what happens when we are in Sympathetic NS - Fight or Flight vs Parasympathetic- Rest, Digest & Repair! Now don’t get me wrong, there’s a reason we need the Sympathetic NS as it helps us fight or run in a life or death situation! ... But these days we’re in chronic Sympathetic mode which means our systems are being taxed almost all the time! No wonder many of us don’t feel well. This is why the Nervous System deserves some love and attention. When it comes to balancing hormones, healing digestion and detoxing, nothing works on its own and it is all innervated by the Nervous System! So let’s nourish the Nervous System and activate the Parasympathetic pathway. Luckily, this can be done in a variety of fun ways! herbs (oatstraw is my fav!) mediation massage deep belly breathing therapy (subconscious repatterning - more on this later) chanting All of these actions activate the Vagus Nerve which essentially switches us into Parasympathetic Rest, Digest & Repair! My faavvvv treat! (One of them) I just love making healthier & plant based versions of some childhood favourites. These are a fusion of Reese’s & Twix... I call them..Twix Cups! It’s hard to confidently take the next step of you don’t know where you’re going. Especially when you’re not clear on the why or the how. (I find once you figure out the why, the how becomes easier) Think about the following questions. Writing it out is even better! ... What does your ideal ____ (career, life, health status) look like? Better yet, how does it FEEL? What is most important to you? Why? What qualities do you currently possess? What qualities do you want to possess? What are your boundaries? This applies to your career, health goals, relationships and life. Write a separate category for each and give yourself this time to get to know yourself better. Once I did this it made it so much easier to align with what I want and my behaviour started to follow it! It’s like putting the destination into your gps and the route is outlined for you Try this exercise and let me know what you think!

Yin & Yang Isn’t it amazing when you realize something that applies in almost every aspect of your life?? Training in circus arts has taught me so much more than I realized! ... Like how it requires balance of holding on and letting go. Combining strength with grace. Being engaged and soft all at once or at least taking turns. It’s such a beautiful representation of Yin & Yang/ Masculine & Feminine This has been a huge lesson this year. As an aerialist, entrepreneur and woman, I finally realize how important it is to honour my feminine vibes. I spent so many years needing to be strong, successful, and scheduled that I forgot that it’s actually powerful to be gentle, supportive, soft and creative. Once I did, it was a game-changer! And the greatest part? I know there are so many amazing women out there who are feeling burnt out and disconnected. This is why I’m currently working on a project that marries nutrition, supplements, exercise & education in order to help women evolve into the powerful goddess they are Stay tuned for more details!

How you start the day can have a huge impact on how you feel & perform the rest of the day This is something I learned from @personaldevelopment_school and from amazing books like #the5amclub & #essentialism The idea is to meet your personality needs (ex. need for growth, comfort, emotional connection) as soon as possible. The earlier you meet your personality needs & fill your buckets the more fulfilled you feel and there is less procrastination and more confidence in... moving forward with your day, tasks and feeling centred (instead of the mind trying to find ways of filling these needs and possibly slowing you down or derailing you). Here are some of my favourite ways to start the day! I don’t always do all of them, but I feel amazing when I do at least a few Meditation Drinking a glass of warm lemon water Joyful Movement/Exercise Journaling Listening to music Reading Listening to a podcast Quality time with my partner Tidying up my space What are some things that you do in the morning to help set the tone for the day??
