A new Prop for our Aircraft!

Elphinstone Aero Club 26.12.2020

For all pilots! Greetings from Steinbach, Manitoba! I’ve had the privilege of being a BCGA member for a few months, and I’m also the President of the Steinbach Flying Club (CJB3). The government of Manitoba has opened its borders to the residents of western provinces, through which a 14 day quarantine is no longer required. We are excited about this and want to help GA travelers with their much anticipated travel plans! That being said, between June 21 and July 31 2020, we ar...e happy to offer all BCGA members our member-exclusive AvGas pricing, and we will cover your tie-down fees at CJB3 as well! If you have any plans to fly to or through Manitoba during this period and choose to stop at CJB3, please send me a message beforehand and I will help you out. Our fuel prices are updated on our website at SteinbachFlyingClub.com. Hope to see a few of you in Manitoba! See more

EAC COVID-19 UPDATE MARCH 22, 2020 Dear fellow EAC Members,... We hope that everyone is taking care of themselves during this world-wide pandemic. Already we are seeing cases of the virus here on the Coast, so we are requesting certain measures be taken at the airport in order to protect ourselves and others. 1) We first of all recommend you stay home and NOT go to the airport if you are showing signs of the virus, or if it is really not necessary. If you have traveled from outside the country, you are expected to complete the recommended 14-day self-isolation. 2) Pilots should not fly with passengers (unless they are living with them) as it disobeys BC Health’s social distancing recommendation. 3) Pilots are responsible to wipe down with disinfectant wipes all common surfaces used in the aircraft, Ops room and Fuel Pump prior to use. Until wipes can be supplied by EAC, we ask that you bring your own. 4) Request no more than one booking per day to help minimize transfer of the virus. This is all in an effort to do our part in slowing the spread of this virus. We ask that you work with your fellow members. An announcement by Transport Canada about pilot medicals was released last week and the COPA link is included here for those who many not be aware. COVID-19 poses a significant challenge to Canada’s healthcare system. Regulatory bodies at all levels of government are working to limit the strain on the system. To that end, all persons who currently hold a valid Transport Canada aviation Medical Certificate (MC) expiring on or before June 1st, 2020 may continue to exercise the privileges of their permits, licenses, or ratings until August 1st, 2020 subject to the conditions listed in the Exemption notice dated 17 March 2020. Furthermore, no medical examinations for new aviation MCs will be conducted until at least May 1st, 2020. All aviation MC holders shall continue to comply with the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) in all respects, and the CARs continue to apply in all respects other than the Exemption noted. Aviation MC holders are reminded that they shall not exercise their privileges if they cease to hold a valid MC by meeting any of the circumstances set out in section 404.06 of the CARs. Wishing you all good health and safety, EAC Board of Directors
