Playoff Hockey Attention Eagles Fans As noted we want everyone to be able to have an Eskasoni Eagle experience. However, COVID-19 restrictions limit the amount of spectators that we are allowed in the facility. So we are happy to offer live streaming of tonight's game at 6 pm sharp as the Eskasoni Eagles take on the Pictou Scotians!... As we reply on admission for revenue the restrictions limit that for us. Trent Reardon places third for player of the month selection in Rowe Division Mattie-Bouchard named players of the month in NSJHL While players everywhere anxiously await to see whether the second wave of Covid will directly interfere with a second consecutive season of hockey, the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League is pleased to announce their Hockey Nova Scotia Players of the month for November. Sam Mattie of the Antigonish AA Munro Jr. Bulldogs has been named the Sid Rowe ...Divisional Player of the month after recording 6 goals and adding 7 assists for 13 points while Joe Bouchard of the Liverpool Privateers was named the Fred Fox Divisional Player of the month. Bouchard was held scoreless in only one of the Privateer games while scoring 6 times and adding 6 assists in helping the Privateers start the season at 6-1-0. Included with his six goals were a power-play marker and two game-winning goals. He scored twice and collected an assist in the Privateers 6-3 win over the Valley Maple Leafs with all three points coming in the second including a goal and an assist on the game tying and game winning goal for Liverpool. He also assisted on the game winning goal in a 3-1 win over East Hants. The Jr. Bulldogs Sam Mattie was a consistent scorer recording points in all but one of the Antigonish games which was a 2-1 shoot-out win over the Jr. Miners in the opening game of the season. He recorded a short-handed and a power-play goal in a 4-1 Bulldogs win over Eskasoni. Finishing second and third in the Fox Division were Cole Harbour Rookie sensation Tyler Puma who recorded 7 goals during the month and the Brookfield Elks Danny Walsh who despite his Goals Against Average played flawlessly in leading the Elks to two huge wins over the East Hants Penguins and the Valley Maple Leafs while stopping 224 of the 254 shots he faced. Chad O’Neill of the Jr. Miners finished second in the Rowe Division. O’Neill did record 8 goals and 8 assists for 16 points to lead the league with five of his eight goals coming in 6-0 and 10-2 wins over Eskasoni and the Port Hawkesbury Jr. Pirates. Finishing third was Eskasoni’s Trent Alexander Reardon who scored twice and added 10 assists in the month of November. Both Bouchard and Mattie will receive select clothing from Hockey Nova Scotia for their award winning month.
