In response to the PHO on March 30th the Provincial Government has come out with a grant to help. Obviously its not enough to cover all the lost revenues but every dollar helps at this point. They have also issued a rebate on capital purchases. Check out the links below and if you have any questions please reach out to the office. https://www2.gov.bc.ca//cov/economic-recovery/relief-grant... https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2021FIN0022-000654

Many of you may have heard by now but they have put forward the calculation for the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy (CEWS). I have been working with the CRA template spreadsheet all morning to calculate the benefits for clients. I've been pleasantly surprised at how much the benefit will be for our clients! Please reach out if you have any questions about this or any other programs.

Looks like good news from this past weekend! Will try and keep everyone up to speed as we know things. If you have any questions please call the office. "The bill authorizes the federal government to pay companies 75 per cent of the first $58,700 earned by each employee, up to $847 per week for up to 12 weeks. The subsidy is retroactive to March 15 and will be available to companies that lost 15 per cent of their revenue in March or 30 per cent in April or May."
I forgot to take the photo before I dove in, whoops! It feels like deja vu at the office with another amazing meal from our friends at Corner House Cafe!

Even in these uncertain times some things will never change. Athena will always get spoiled! Happy Friday everyone! #spoiled #officedog #bestcoworker
WARNING I wanted to let everyone know that I personally, as well as others have received a text message this morning from someone claiming to be from the Emergency Response Benefit of Canada Relief Fund. I did not apply for any such relief so this is a scam. There is a lot of really scummy people out there that want to take advantage of people in a desperate time. I hope everyone stays safe and remember to be smart!
Hello everyone, hope you all are staying safe and healthy! We want to remind you that we are still here to help you with all your tax needs. If you are expecting a refund we want you to get it sooner then later, additionally they recommend people who are getting GST and Child Tax Benefits to file their returns so that they are still enrolled in those programs. That being said we are trying to adhere to the social distancing guidelines and have also stepped up our cleaning pr...ocedures. We can do a lot of the communications by correspondence for those of you in isolation or do not feel comfortable entering the office. If you can scan your slips and email them to us we can start on your return. Then when we are finished we can send you electronic copies of what we need signatures on. If you do not have scanning capabilities we do have a mail slot you can drop your tax information through if you do not feel comfortable entering the office. We will be cleaning the mail slot regularly, as well as the rest of the office. In order to keep all of our clients safe and healthy we recommend minimizing contact so if you are able to follow one of the above then please do. See more
Today's #covidlunch comes from our good friends at Corner House Cafe! Can't beat the Chinese special.
Hope everyone is saying safe and healthy! Firstly just wanted to remind everyone that we are open for business so if you want to get a jump on your taxes because you may be getting a refund and need the cash let us know. If you are not feeling well or are not comfortable coming into the office we can do most things remotely via email. So give me a call (778-455-2000) or email me ([email protected]) if you have questions or want to get started. I also wanted to quickl...y share some links with everyone. They should be able to answer some of your questions in these uncertain times. https://www.ctvnews.ca//how-to-apply-for-ei-sickness-benef https://www.canada.ca//depart/economic-response-plan.html https://static1.squarespace.com//Key_Points_Canada%27s_COV Stay safe out there!
Second installment of the #COVIDLunch series proved by Fresh Kenny's Fish and Chips!
The emergency support benefit will offer payments of undisclosed amounts to unemployed workers who are not eligible for EI. Sadly it looks like applications wont be open until April.
There is an announcement expected tomorrow which will extend the deadline for filing personal taxes. However we are still open our regular hours to service all of you.
