Each year Eveningsong horses get together and do a not so secret Santa gift exchange. It makes work for us but we indulge them... this year they have really been quite creative so excited to see the unwrapping today! It’s not easy with hooves...
Brrrrr Baby it’s cold outside. Eveningsong Farm is very thankful to some very amazing M’s today. More dependable than even the post office these three make things happen and we are very grateful. Thank you Meg, Madi and Marlies!

Relaxing in the tackroom while Emily warms up! Tis the season!
A good solution for November 4th 2020! Wishing all the peace of mind a barn can bring.
With freezing rain to greet us this morning on turnout it seems it’s a wrap for the warm weather of 2020. Despite Covid, or perhaps because of Covid, and with the help of many, we were able to complete a number of projects this summer and fall. Now it’s time to enjoy the benefits and focus on training. We have a number of excellent coaches that are regular faces at the farm so wishing everyone a very productive training season!
It’s just that easy.... it just took Steve to take on driving Marlies to her lesson and get gas for the 4x4. For Emily to have an idea that we should wash the indoor mirrors. For Kyle to be a superstar and install new paneling in the indoor. ... For Daelyn to be such a good driver to collect all the jumps and poles from the outdoor rings (even though she hadn’t eaten!). For Madi to bring us a whole bunch of supplies I didn’t even know we had. For Meg and Kristin to go collect cavaletti from the outdoor rings. For Danbys Roadhouse to make such good pizza and for Kim to say this is a great idea! I have bubbly! I’m in. It’s just that easy and suddenly things look brighter and better than ever. Thank you team, we couldn’t do it without you.
One more sleep to the Megan Lane clinic being held at the farm tomorrow and Sunday! We are hoping for good weather and will be hosting the clinic outside. This does allow for a small amount of auditors (yeah). If you wish to audit, please reach out to Emily Gann (tagged below) for instructions on parking, access, and the link to the covid assessment form which must be completed prior to coming on property. ... Please be aware we will be using a CEECoach for the riders/clinician in some instances. Auditing is $20/day. Happy riding and learning!
Some more improvements taking place. A new shelter in one of the paddocks!

CLINIC NEWS Eveningsong Farm is pleased to once again host a clinic with Canadian Olympic dressage rider, Megan Lane. Megan will be coaching and inspiring riders for a two day clinic on October 3rd and 4th. There are a small number of rider spots available, if interested please message Eveningsong Farm.... Auditor spots will be determined closer to the date and will be weather dependent. Hope you can join us!
Farm Sunday ... a love story One of the first projects we took on at the farm was a paddock previously called the lumpy one that not only had a reputation of taking horse shoes and rubber boots but sucking in full size farm equipment, if local folklore is to be believed. Being the classic optimist in a renovation show, I could see the beauty this paddock could be! It would be beautiful and stunning! It was just going to take three years and some elbow grease! It has been ...a labour of love bringing this paddock back and today was no exception. Often I have good ideas that aren’t really so great but in our quest for this perfect paddock we needed to have some large rocks removed from an old fence line. This is when my beloved Steve, who despite my good ideas experience, came to help me with a sense of humour and some serious muscle. We laughed, we cried, we sweat and the rocks came out. After such amazing feats of strength and determination I thought it was high time I not bother Steve with anymore good ideas and I proceeded to mow this paddock, what could go wrong? Apparently what can go wrong is you can get the lawn tractor stuck in the new holes you created and you are stranded. However, this is a love story that includes over coming obstacles so I got a bigger tractor to free the smaller tractor. And it was beautiful. All in all it was a good Sunday and I’m very thankful for all those who are enjoying the journey with us. To Steve, thank you for all you do. The moral of the story is keep the partner who helps you wash your tractor. The end.
Guess who is having best day ever? These two!
Eveningsong took to the trails today :)
And that’s a wrap. Last big fencing project for 2020 tested us but it’s now complete and this crew is pretty pleased with the outcome!
And then the rain came...
Things are brewing in this heat... magic happening with the addition of a new paddock.
The horses are checking out our new flag...
Some farm sights this week... lots of riding but I seem to be missing that while sitting behind my desk. Have a great week!
