Happy Monday! A fun memory from last year with some happy eyes and happy smiles A few years ago, @dr.zahragg first brought her children to see me for routine eye exams with no specific concerns. It turned out that her son had almost five times the amount of hyperopia (farsightedness) and almost double the amount of astigmatism that was expected for his age. The great news is he’s now able to see 20/20 in each eye Hyperopia is a hereditary condition. Children are often born... with it, and it can commonly go unnoticed as the eyes can correct themselves and blurry vision may not be an issue. Farsightedness can lead to learning difficulties and eye strain. It can cause an eye turn (commonly known as a lazy eye), which is when the eyes cross to try to make up for the refractive error, when left untreated.
