On behalf of the event organizers, we are excited to announce the 2018 FACEOFF to Fight Cervical Cancer raised $5300 in support of Tealpower! Thank you to everyone who sponsored, donated, or bought tickets for our event.
Congratulations Predators!
Better late than never....the final score of the 2018 FACEOFF to Fight Cervical Cancer between the Sunday Night Hockey League All-Stars and the Markham Thunder : GUYS 8 - GIRLS 3. To our friends, the Thunder - we can not thank you enough for coming up to Bolton for the past 3 years to put on a show with our all-stars and help us raise funds to support Tealpower. We know the guys playing in the games were honoured to be sharing the ice with some of the best women hockey players in the world. We hope to have helped bring some new eyes to women's hockey and create some new fans of the Thunder. Much love and respect to you all!
Some sad news to report. Bill Rea from the Caledon Citizen passed away early Sunday morning, just hours after he left our charity game Saturday night. Here he is taking the group picture. Bill worked for over 35 years as a journalist and editor. He will be greatly missed in our community.
GREAT GAME! Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event tonight. Final score: 8-3 for the GUYS
1 min remains in the game
RATTRAY with more beauty dangles. Goalie down and another Thunder player puts in the rebound. It’s now 8-3 for the Guys.
Nice spin-o-rama move and the guys make it 8-2.
Becca Vint breaks into the offensive zone, dekes the goalie, who goes down, and just misses the empty net. Chorus of Ooooooooohs from the crowd.
Pretty quiet in here as the GUYS take a 7-2 Lead with 9:15 left in the game. The fans definitely favour the GIRLS and don’t want to cheer for the guys.
Close call for the ladies, as the goalie comes out to poke check and loses control of the puck. Girls just missed a wide open net as one of the guys jumps in to block. But on the turn over, the guys gain control and take it to the offensive zone and score. 6-2 GUYS. 11 mins left in the game.
After two periods the GUYS lead 5-2.
