The Unrequited Love Letters of Emma Hauck In February 1909, Emma Hauck (18781920) was admitted to the psychiatric hospital at the University of Heidelberg, dia...gnosed with dementia praecox. While institutionalized, Hauck wrote a series of letters to her husband. They consist of only the phrase Herzensschatzi komm (darling please come) and komm komm komm (come, come, come ) repeated over and over. None of the letters were ever sent. She died eleven years later at the age of 42 at the asylum in Anstalt Wiesloch. Her letters are now held in the Prinzhorn Collection, Heidelberg.

Back in stock for the first time in years. The remarkable Echo by inimitable South Korean photographer Jungjin Lee (Spector Books, Leipzig). Available in very l...imited quantity. Link to store in bio. /// In the early 1990s Jungjin Lee ventured into the endless expanse of America on multiple trips, where she captured archaic, primal images of deserts, rocks, undergrowth, and cacti. Drawing on her South Korean heritage, the artist developed a highly unique pictorial language in series such as Ocean, On Road, Pagodas, Things, and Wind, in which her fundamental interest in nature and culture is expressed in a space of poetic resonance. In her work, Jungjin Lee taps her profound understanding for materiality, texture and craftsmanship. Working with Liquid Light, she applies photosensitive emulsion onto rice paper with a coarse brush. The publication presents eleven groups of works, commentated and contextualised in essays by Lena Fritsch, Hester Keijser, and Liz Wells, and provides, for the very first time, an overview of an oeuvre spanning two decades. #perimeterbooks @spectorbooks See more
