Throughout this difficult time, the paramedics, emergency medical dispatchers and flight nurses in New Brunswick are working very hard to care for you as effici...ently and as safely as possible and are employing a number of measures to do just that. When you call 911, we will ask you a number of questions to ascertain the likelihood of COVID-19 infection. The paramedics will do a similar thing when they arrive. These measures are in place to safeguard you, your family and our first responders in a province-wide effort to slow the spread of this virus. It also gives us valuable information that helps in getting you properly tested. Upon their arrival, paramedics will take the necessary safety precautions, which may include the wearing of various personal protective equipment. Again, this is for everyone’s benefit and contributes significantly to ‘flattening the curve’. We have included pictures of some of the equipment you may see. Also, please remember that, in this time of isolation and uncertainty, not everything is about COVID-19. We urge you to continue to call 911 just as you did before if you are experiencing any type of emergency. Rest assured, we will keep you safe and the hospitals have protocols and procedures in place to do the same. We would like to thank you for your cooperation and your patience during this time; please know that our professional paramedics are there to help and to be an advocate for your continued good health.
