Hurray!! The Forest Hill Art Club is excited to announce that the club will open again on Wednesday, September 16 for communal life drawing and painting. Are you anxious about your safety in the studio? Here is the plan developed by FHAC and the Don Valley Art Club based on best practices put forward by Public Health and the province to keep you safe and feeling comfortable. The steps we are implementing to safeguard you and your health 1. Each member attending any session ...has to be 100% free of symptoms, will have to sign in and out and answer COVID-19 screening questions. This includes a temperature test. 2. The number of members is limited to 8 - 10 per session. You will have to reserve a spot at a session beforehand with a studio co-ordinator. A member may drop in but risks the chance of being turned away if there is no space available. 3. Each attendee will be designated a spot spaced 6 feet apart from any other spot. 4. Each member will bring and wear a mask at all times in the studio. The model will also wear a plastic visor mask when not posing. 6. Hands are to be washed frequently. 7. Each member must wipe down every item of studio equipment used. Sanitizer and paper towels will be provided. 8. Eating in the studio for now will not be allowed. Coffee/tea has to be brought in. 9. If a member falls ill after attending a session or upon testing COVID-19 positive, they must notify the club immediately so that the studio can be deep-cleaned. 10. A Hepa Filter air purifier will purify the air. All members attending must abide by these rules for their own and others safety. Who can attend? 1. Only members who have paid their membership fee of $150 will be allowed to attend any of our sessions. This will ensure traceability. 2. Each member will have to sign a waiver releasing any and all Club members, Club officers and visitors from any liability connected with COVID-19 infections or other illnesses or injuries. Come back for the studio time with a live model and the camaraderie. All levels of experience are welcome. Easels, benches and boards available for your use. See our studio schedule for session information.

" Project: Humanity is looking for GTA-based artists of all disciplines to join our roster of artist mentors for our COVID-19 Artist Partnership Program (CAPP).... Read on for details! To apply, visit projecthumanity.ca/join-our-team During this pandemic, youth in shelters are feeling increased anxiety as their usual social and support networks become inaccessible. Concurrently, self-employed professional artists are facing their own kind of insecurity as key aspects of the culture sector remain on hold. Project: Humanity has developed a program that employs artists to help us serve these youth during this critical moment. CAPP pairs youth in shelters with artists for weekly 1:1 online mentorship sessions in a discipline of their choosing. Our May/June 2020 pilot, which supported six youth in shelters and six artist-mentors through creative work like poetry, visual art, learning guitar and songwriting is poised to expand over the next few months, and we are looking for more artists to join our team. The success of our pilot program has been based on pairing the right artist with the right youth in order to foster a meaningful relationship and growth. In this vein, we particularly encourage the following candidates to apply: BIPOC, LGBTQ2 and other equity-seeking artists those with lived experience in the shelter/care system artists with some experience with youth facilitation and teaching Compensation is $100 per week + a paid orientation meeting. Sessions run one hour each week over Zoom and are scheduled at the availability of both the mentor and mentee. This phase of the program is set to last 12 weeks but may be extended based on continued isolation due to COVID-19."
