Ovulation Predictor Kits indicate a surge of hormones called Luteinizing Hormone, which is required for ovulation to take place approximately 1-2 days after the surge. OPK’s can be helpful in getting pregnant but they do not optimize your chances as there are likely fertile days prior to this surge, or ovulation may not always happen after an increase of LH as we all go through stress or something as little as travelling can effect the timing of ovulation.
