This International Women’s Day we are urged to #ChooseToChallenge. Challenge inequity. Challenge gender stereotypes and bias. Challenge misogyny, racism, and hate. Challenge the words we hear and the images we see. For us, in the marketing and communications industry, it’s about challenging the way we portray people in our work. About careful consideration of the language and imagery we use. We ask ourselves - is it an accurate representation of the message we are communica...ting? Are there other messages we are communicating, consciously or subconsciously, that may be damaging to anyone? There’s always room for improvement. We’re challenging ourselves to do better.

It doesn’t feel like that long ago that we did this work with @goodearthhq. Faking snow in summer and socially distanced photo shoots with @fritzology, and now Christmas is almost here. Where did the time go!?

We were challenged by AMA - Alberta Motor Association in the #StacktoSackHunger social challenge, so we made a tower of our own. We challenge Chase with Edmonton Production Rentals, Donovan from Atomic Improv, and our beloved Freshwater alumni Barry Chugg! 1. Share a picture or video of your food tower... 2. For the @goodearthhq fall campaign, we had to find some creative ways to make it work when social distancing made photo shoots complicated. Using a mix of 3D, previous photography, and some careful retouching, we put together some product photography to showcase their drinks, here until Remembrance Day. While it was fun, we’re happy to be back shooting again!

Sometimes a pandemic throws a wrench in things. For Good Earth’s fall campaign, we had to find some creative ways to make it work when our photo session was cancelled. Using a mix of 3D, previous photography, and some careful retouching, we put together some product photography to showcase their drinks, here until Remembrance Day. While it was fun, we’re happy to be back shooting again!
