Some of you have wanted to learn more about this fantastic sport. With this in mind, I have designed a full weekend course to give you the knowledge and techniq...ues to go canyoning on your own. The 2.5 days course will start on Friday night in North Vancouver from 6 pm until 9 am, followed by two full days of canyoning where you will be able to use your newly acquired skills. Course planning and Syllabus This course will provide students with necessary personal canyoning skills to be independent in moderate canyons and competent in hard canyons with other skilled leaders and mentors. During this training you will learn: Pre-course assignment: An online pre-course will be sent to you as well as a few videos to look at before the training. Friday evening: The evening will be a mix of theory and review of essential skills and canyoning concepts. -Canyoning Hazard and risk management Trip Planning -Equipment and rope careKnotcraftAnchors Saturday: Cypress Creek Falls- am on dry cliff and pm in the water -Rigging and Pitch Set-up -Horizontal rope progression -Vertical rope progression -BelayLower and Raise Sunday: Location to be determined We will test you during scenarios while exploring one of our local canyons.
