It was a perfect day to pull out the smoker and smoke a turkey! We bought a whole turkey, cut it up into manageable pieces, soaked it in a salt/herb/maple brine, dusted it with a spicey maple sugar dry rub, then applied a final glaze with some of Glengarry's finest maple syrup It was FANTASTIC (if we do say so ourselves )- many a turkey sandwich will be had this week. We have been keeping busy this summer cleaning up the sugar bush and keeping it healthy! Thank you Gilles Levac Excavation for also getting us better access (will be a life saver this winter). We are also taking some time to enjoy this summer. Not exactly a typical summer, but we count ourselves lucky to be able to wander through the trees and enjoy nature around us (including the ripening berries ). Hoping you are all staying well!!
