Hi All, as we prepare to start karate up again in October I would like to get a clear picture on who is planning to return to training. Can everyone who is planning on returning to training in October please send me an email with the names of people in your family as well as if you intend on training 2 classes per week. We can only accommodate 12 students per class and I would prefer to give the spaces to folks who intend on training most of the 8 classes per month that a...re available. Everyone’s ISKF fees are good until January. Pamela will be working on the fee structure for this year and will have some sort of credit for the end of the last session. Stay tuned for that. Please pass along to any students or others who need this info. Sensei Tyler

KARATE UPDATE Hi to all our karate students. I trust everyone has stayed happy and healthy throughout this long karate hiatus. I know everyone us itching to get back to training in our Awesome Dojo, however there are still somethings that need to be worked out due to this Covid situation. As it stands currently we will be aiming to start classes going at the beginning of October. This will give us time to see how the school reopening has gone. Our class size will be lim...ited to 12 students per class to allow for physical distancing. We will also need a short period of time between classes so all can leave, the dojo can be sanitized and the next class can then start to arrive. All students must come in their Gi as the change rooms will be closed for the time being. As for cleaning, I will not be doing this. Our club is a not for profit with no paid employees. Currently the club runs through the volunteer efforts of my family and we do not have the time to add to this job with more cleaning. This is going to have to rely on the membership to step up and pitch in. If you really want to train and be part of our club then this is how to get involved, please help us make this easy for us to offer a safe and sanitary environment for you and your loved ones to train in the karate we all love so much. We will be working these details out shortly. Unfortunately we will not be running the Little Ninja's program this year. While this is fun for us and great for the kids, it will be near impossible for us to manage this situation, keep the place clean, and limit exposure to the daycare. Our viewing area is off limits for now so parents can not be in the building while we are training and this is essential for the parents to keep an I on the little ones while we train. We will start this program up as soon as it is possible. As for new students, we will not be accepting new students until February and this is only if the Covid situation turns more positive and allows for a simplification of our cleaning and physical distancing requirements. We will be focusing on our current students to allow them the most opportunities to train. We currently have over 60 members and only enough space for 24 students with 12 per class. We will be prioritizing spaces to senior belts and serious students who attend regularly. I will continue to update everyone as we work out the details of our club reopening. Sincerely, Sensei Tyler
