SCHEDULED POWER OUTAGE BC Hydro will be temporarily shutting off the power to our building on Tuesday, March 2nd in order to replace a nearby hydro pole. The gym and front desk will be CLOSED during the outage, as all of our systems will be offline. If you are coming in to train on Tuesday, please finish your workout before 12 PM, as we will need everyone out before the power is shut off.... The good news is that our team will be using that time to deep clean the gym, and do some routine maintenance. Well, 2020 was certainly not the easiest year to be a new gym owner, but we made it through - together! When 2020 started, our whole focus was on the upcoming huge renovations to the cardio room, and trying to bring our vision of Golden's Gym 2.0 to life as quickly as possible for our wonderful fitness community. Who knew that only a month later we'd be forced to closed our doors for 90 long days... BUT - we kept our heads high through the infamous "Spring of Uncertainty", ...and focused our energy on giving our members something great to come back to. We never expected our first year to be THAT much of a rollercoaster ride of emotions (and sanity!) , but we're very proud to have made it out in one piece, and feeling stronger than ever about the future of Golden's Gym. NOVEMBER 25TH UPDATE: B.C. Public Health Authorities have updated the mask policy for fitness facilities. Masks are still required AT ALL TIMES while in the gym, EXCEPT while you are at a machine or station. This means that everyone must keep their mask ON while entering, exiting, and moving around the gym, but can remove it temporarily while using a piece of equipment (such as a treadmill, leg press, squat rack, etc). ... If you leave that piece of equipment (or area), you MUST put your mask back on IMMEDIATELY. ***NO exceptions!*** On a more personal note: We understand that these frequent and sudden changes from the Provincial Government can be difficult to follow, but we are doing our absolute best to keep everyone updated as much as we possibly can. Business owners are not given any advance notice regarding these policy changes, so we are finding all of this out at the same time that you are. It has been an exceptionally difficult year for gyms (and all business owners, for that matter!), so we truly appreciate your continued support and understanding as we navigate this ever-changing landscape together.
