Top 10 list to keep in mind for your Child Custody Cases, 1) Keep the highest quality of care of your child/ren. Always return them with clean clothes and proper hygiene. 2) The child/ren’s toys or books belong to the child, let them decide what and where to take them no matter who bought them. 3) Always be a cooperative parent: Avoid any unneccesary fights with the other parent.... 4) Should the parents be present at a public place (school play, birthday party, etc.) allow the child/ren to speak to the other parent freely. 5) Any information regarding the child/ren’s wellbeing should be communicated freely and quickly. That is in the best interest of the child/ren. This includes any information on medical, dental, schooling etc. 6) Do not use your child/ren as a messenger in any way. 7) Do not involve your child/ren regarding any of your feelings. 8) Avoid negative talk of the other side including the parent, grandparents, friends of parent etc. 9) Encourage your child to have a healthy and happy relationship with the other parent. 10) Take the initiative and be proactive as to how you would like to be informed about the child/ren. Perhaps discuss using texts, emails, phone calls, or a communication journal. A separation with children involved is always difficult for the parents and especially the child/ren. You will have a lot to deal with and a lot of questions.
