The Coop is looking for several members to revitalize the Coop. This includes someone to take over the role of President and Vice President as well as active board members who will help not only maintain the Coop, but improve it and love it. President duties involve helping handle Coop emergencies, mediating members and boards ideas, and a willingness to try new ideas. The new president should be focused on the big picture and prepared to focus on retaining current members, a...nd with the help of the Vice President and other board members, aim to attract new members, improving systems such as online payment and registration, and working to improve the facility. In short- we need people to own it and be responsible to make sure it’s clean, safe and working. Being a cooperative means everyone has to do their part to keep it flowing. No experience necessary! All you need is psych and an ability to get things done! It is a year long commitment, preferably longer. #squamishbouldering

This is Matt. He has been our president and accountant for the last four years. We are sad to say that Matt and his partner Sarah are moving on to greener pastures. We’d like to sincerely thank Matt from the bottom of our hearts for his hard work over the years. His accountant abilities, fairness, and ability to rationalize and believe in possibilities really helped the Coop through some very hard times. HI everyone, As many of you remember, last year, the District of Squamish attempted to pass a blanket ban bylaw that would make sleeping in your vehicle illegal. Although we all fought strong and hard, they passed the bylaw but thanks to everyone's opposition, with an amended map so that only partial areas were affected. Members! As you probably know the floor at the Coop is in need of repair. Due to a shortage on funds, we will be raising money through donations. If you have a bit of money to spare, donations are very much appreciated and accepted through e-transfer to our email (below) or cash via the metal bin for day pass users. Here’s to two core Coop members, Gabe and Jake. The Coop is a volunteer run gym and we rely on members like Jake and Gabe to keep it going. For example, Jake just rallied a few members to chip in for the Stokt app for our 40 degree wall, and Gabe, along with other Coop members, helped put all the Covid related stuff in place so we could re-open. He also painted the bathroom way back when and will use his skills to update the exterior sign. We rely on the Coop to stay fit, and... the Coop relies on us to stay fit. It is the many little actions like this that add up to one big action. Many hands make small work. If you want to get your volunteer hours done, reach out to other members and see what greatness you can make happen. For example, the Velcro needs replacing and the floor put back properly. Can we rally someone to fundraise and organize people to make that happen? There are many t-nuts needing replacing so we can get more holds on the wall. Is there a small crew of friends willing to put in a couple hours to make this happen? The walls are pretty dusty, the floor always needs vacuuming, the windows could use shining... basically, there’s always something that we can do! We can’t rely on a select few to carry the load. It gets heavy and they get tired, burnt out, and also have lives to live outside the Coop. So let’s get our Cooperative on and show the Coop some group love! #vivalacoop #forearmsforever #squamishbouldering

We are looking for members to step up to the plate and start taking better care of this amazing training venue. The floor needs fixing, the signs need painting, members need to hold each other accountable to both easy Coop rules: sign in, paying members only, and the Covid protocol. The Coop is 100% volunteer run! Tha...t means members need to step up and do their part to take care of the place and each other. No one likes to see it run down, and as the saying goes, more hands make less work. So let’s get er’ done!
