Last Year I wrote about Eucalyptus in APril, but this year, I feel the need to connect with it a little sooner. I have added some updated information in the post. Eucalyptus is a favourite for sniffly, itchy, and congested systems, and my go to. The scent of all eucalyptus essential oils is slightly different, but they share a refreshing, penetrating and stimulating aroma. All forms of eucalyptus help fight bacterial, viral and fungal infections, and they ease respiratory congestion and help to cool the body (such as with fevers)..... http://ascentedpath.com//04/04/all-the-wonders-of-eucalyp/

Its near the end of February and here in South Western Ontario and that typically means we are in the deepest, darkest part of winter. We’ve had the celebrations at the end of last year to help us through the beginning of the winter season, we made it past the very long January and though February is the shortest month, its usually the darkest and coldest. March brings with it the early signs of spring and the return of warmer weather and longer days. But we aren’t there just yet. SO how do we manage? http://ascentedpath.com/index.p/2020//19/in-the-deep-dark/

Gratitude. It's hard this week, but it's there. I think it's even more important to find your gratitude, even when you dont think you have any. When sadness and grief are overwhelming... Here goes. I am grateful for the support of my friends And the memories of those no longer with us. I am grateful for quiet, reflective mornings with a hot cup of coffee and my journal, to process the things I'm going through I am grateful for every day I have with my daughter, and of the bond we share. What are you grateful for?

We are full in on winter here in Southern Ontario. February brings with it cold winds, canned heat. Skin stress. We need to care for ourselves during these dark times, when the sun isn’t a strong on our faces, and the darkness creeps in quickly and stays a long time. Care for the exposed skin, exposed to harsh damaging winds, to forced heat and its drying effects. I’m here to talk about the care we can give to our faces. The most exposed section of skin all year round. http://ascentedpath.com//2/02/12/spotlight-wash-your-face/

Introducing Ginger, my chosen essential oil (and raw root) of the month. I intend on adding more ginger root to my food, and creating blends that contain ginger, available now in the shop. Sharp and Spicy, peppery and pungent, Ginger has a warm and heady aroma. Think of the enticing scent of warm gingerbread. MMMM. Most people have this kitchen spice in their cupboards.... http://ascentedpath.com/index.p/2020//31/spotlight-ginger/

I am grateful everyday. On Tuesdays I share those with you. This week is almost bittersweet in its gratitude. I am grateful that when I found out a friend of mine was in the hospital, I went and visited. She died that night. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to express my love (and the love of others for her) to her before she left. I truly believe she heard me, and felt my love. I will miss her. Gone but not forgotten. Travel safe my friend. I am grateful for all of those s...till in my life, every one of you. I would love to spend more time with you, and I hope to. I am grateful for my journalling practise, to help me sort out my feelings and express them safely. Thanks Effy. I am grateful for the art I create, not because I think it has monetary value, but because looking on it has value for me. It gives me pleasure to see it, and pride in my accomplishments. I am grateful for delicious hot coffee (thanks to Patrick and his delicious coffee beans) to go along with my quiet and reflective mornings. Its a ritual I absolutely adore, and one I will likely continue for the rest of my days. What are you grateful for?

TIP: Did you know that if you sniff your skin (provided you haven't recently put product on it) it will restart your senses if you smell too much of something? Same with sniffing coffee, but that has the added bonus of waking us up too. ;) If you are breathing in deeply of a scent through your nose, and don't like it, breath out of your nose. If you want that scent to permeate every part of you, keep breathing in through your nose, but exhale through your mouth. It keeps the... molecules of scent in your olfactory nerve (in your nose) and each subsequent breath in through your nose brings those molecules further into your system. I make sure to breath in deeply of a scent I like everyday. Today was a blend I am creating through the meditation of a word. More on THAT in the very near future!
