Thanks to Habitat, we have the chance to own a home and give our family some stability. We are so grateful to build our own house and to be a part of a special organization that offers opportunities to people who need a helping hand. To wake up and have breakfast with my loved ones in a home of our own is truly the best gift I could receive. Just as Habitat has extended a helping hand to us, we want to do the best we can to help others in the future. Whenever we can, we want to stretch out our arms to others and provide a light in times they need one most. I hope my children learn empathy from this experience. Living in a Habitat home provides my family with a comfort and peace of mind that is truly priceless. #ThrowbackThursday! It's been over a year since the Enbridge team was on site at the Leacross Landing build site! On October 17 2019, the Enbridge team worked on assembling walls, preparing a basement window frame and dismantling temporary stairs and installing Tyvek. The partnership between Enbridge and Habitat for Humanity Canada seeks to build homes at a minimum 15% above Ontario Building Code energy efficiency requirements, which is good for the environment and helps low...er home operating costs. Enbridge supports local Habitats in applying energy saving measures on several build sites/homebuilding projects like our Titus Landing at Wateridge Village project. Last year, three affiliates participated in the Savings by Design-Affordable Housing program: Habitat GTA, Habitat Peterborough & Kawartha region, and Habitat Greater Ottawa. In 2019 alone, 45 Enbridge Gas employees and team members contributed 270 volunteering hours working alongside future Habitat homeowners and Habitat construction staff on build sites in Ottawa, Sarnia-Lambton and Mississauga. Thanks to Enbridge Gas, homeowners and their families have a decent and affordable place to call home.

It’s the children of Habitat homeowners that truly benefit from the safety, stability and security of a Habitat home. Your investment in Habitat means that local families, like Said and Aisha, can invest in themselves, their children and their community. https://habitatgo.ca/blog/said-aishas-story/
