Halifax Rugby Football Club

Recently RNS has announced a 10s series planned for this fall, playing on the below dates. All events will be held in Truro at the Saint's field. There will be a series winner based on a cumulative points structure and a tournament winner each weekend. We are able to pick and choose the weekends we would like to attend, and each tournament will have a fee that will need to be paid by the players. The fee has not yet been determined. If interested, please email the club back indicating which weekends you will make and if you have already completed the 4 contact practices through Rugby X. DM IF INTERESTED!!

A piece of our history. Our club was born out of the ashes of the Halifax Wanderers Athletic Association est.1882. An organization that housed cricket, track and field and our beloved game of Rugby. Our club was blessed with this gift from our Friend Peter in Victoria and we are truly grateful.

Final Six Nations Weekend! Wales v Ireland at 11:45 England v Scotland at 2:00... It’s the last week of our Six Nations Fundraiser at The Pint and hoping to get a good crowd out! Some exciting games on which have big implications on final standings! We are going to pass on the Italy v France game in the morning and meet for the 11:45 game. We will also be raffling off our last $100 gift card, tickets are 1 for $5 or 3 for $10! If you can’t make it you can e-transfer the club for your tickets. There are also $3 Moosehead Mugs all day with brunch specials as well! Let’s get a good crowd out to kick off St Paddy’s Day Weekend!

We start off our #ThanksCoach with this big thank you to Halifax Rugby Football Club women's coach Parker Allen Horton. If you would like to nominate someone fr...om your community, let us know! Parker started coaching Rugby in 2012, in Fredericton NB. He was asked to create/coach a youth program through the YMCA which was very successful. In 2013 NBRU initiated a co-ed Junior High Rugby league in New Brunswick and Parker coached Harold Peterson Junior High for a couple of years, and helped out with the U-16 Provincial team for training. In 2015, Parker took on a role assisting Jason Timms coaching at Dartmouth High School. Last year Parker was selected to be the Coach/Coordinator for Nova Scotia region for Military Rugby in their National sports program. In 2017 Parker was the assistant coach for our HRFC Women's team, and this year he became our the Head coach. Parker's players say his biggest asset as a coach is that he is open to what they players want and need. He is open to having conversations about why things work and don't work in our play and wants to help us come together to organize and be the best collective we can be. "We have had a few tough seasons and Parker has always encouraged us after difficult games and believed that we can build towards future success." HRFC Women want to send a HUGE THANKS to our coach Parker - We appreciate all the volunteer time you are putting into helping our team get better! #ThanksCoach
