The Flowers are looking GREAT!
Anyone else love Cosmos? My very first neighbour brought over the yellow/orange variety and I could only hope they grew! She was about 80, and she forced my green thumb to get digging and planting Then a few years later I found the pinks! Why do I love these happy ladies??? They tolerate long hot summer days... pinch off dead blooms and more will keep coming by the dozens! you can collect the seeds from those dead blooms and replant next year Bees love these flowers!!! I need these every year. I can almost ignore them and they bounce back after a shot of water, all happy again! Give these a try!
Snapdragons.....do you remember making finger puppets with their little blooms? These annuals come in such a variety of colours, and heights. They are great for our Manitoba flower beds, thriving in partial sun/shade areas. Pinch off the top of your young plant to encourage thicker and fuller growing plants. Pluck off the dead blooms for even more show all season long!
It is that time of year again. The flowers will be arriving soon! Anyone wanting more information or to volunteer to help us plant contact Karen Newton.
