Stay safe everybody!
With a grant from the Bell Let's Talk Community Fund, the New Brunswick Association of Fire Chiefs (NBAFC) aims to create a 24/7/365 peer support network for New Brunswick firefighters. The Office of the Fire Marshal congratulates the NBAFC on this exciting news! #BellLetsTalk
With cold temperatures expected to continue, it’s good to ensure you’re prepared!
Huge thank you to Petitcodiac, Elgin, Sussex & Millstream fire departments on a job well done yesterday at a forest fire and DNR and RCMP! Thanks to everyone else who attended and worked extremely hard as well! Thank you Kent Hoar for the amazing photo!
Open fires are banned across New Brunswick. Under the State of Emergency the following open fires are prohibited: burning of grass, debris and other woody materials. Fully-screened and CSA approved wood burning fireplaces are allowed for now. The restrictions will help reduce gatherings, it will also avoid unnecessary responses by firefighters and first responders from having to respond to needless fires and ensure social distancing. Together, let’s help protect our first responders.
We are still under a NO BURN. Which means absolutely no burning! Please respect, and keep all our volunteers safe.
I’d like to wish all of our firefighters a happy International Firefighters day!! If you see one of them today let them know you appreciate them for their volunteer service. Also a special Firefighters day to our Mutual Aid partners, Petitcodiac, Salisbury, and Elgin plus all the other departments!
