Your curling executive have been hard at work during the summer months, meeting with all Greater Montreal curling clubs, and within our own executive to prepare a Greater Montreal Curling Protocol that would allow curling to start this fall while keeping all Legion members and curlers safe and healthy. We have prepared a 2020/21 Curling Protocol manual that is consistent with the recommendations of Curling Canada and Curling Quebec, that all Greater Montreal Curling clubs will be following to start off the season. FYI all bonspiels, interclub play and Curling Quebec events like Grand Match/ Grand dame have already been canceled for this season. Please review at your leisure to have a better idea on how we will move about and play the game this coming fall. We have attached a visual video as well as to how the movement on ice will work. The club will have to pick up additional costs to ensure sanitizing is in place, that extra cleaning and measures are active to keep our environment safe. With that, the fee is to add 10% to your curling categories to cover these additional costs this year. Attached a new Rate Card for your review. We have prepared an Online Survey for your feedback as to the direction we should take this upcoming season to ensure that while curling and in the Legion building, that we are all healthy and we collectively combine efforts to reduce and eliminate the chance of spreading the virus within our walls. Could you then, please complete the ONLINE SURVEY by using the link below, by September 10th. This will allow us to plan for our opening as far as numbers and appropriate leagues. As it stands right now, we plan to have our Open House for registrations; Nighttime - Thursday October 8th , daytime Tuesday October 6th. Further information regarding the structure of the Open House will be distributed following the compilation of the responses to the survey. We should be looking at an opening club bonspiel starting the week of October 13th. Format to be confirmed, but looking like a doubles format to start.
