Miinikaan cultivates relationships between people and plants, and practices gardening techniques to improve the soil and local ecosystem. We'll be launching the new BCCF film https://earthtotables.org/essays/black-creek-c...ommunity-farm/ Join us for a fun day of activities where we will be planting trees, making art, harvesting, eating together, and screening short films outside. Registration required due to COVID-19 limitations : http://bccfharvest2020.eventbrite.ca/ In collaboration with the Sweet Grass Roots Collective and Earth to Tables Legacies, we will be sharing stories of food justice and food sovereignty. Over the summer, our Three Sisters Medicine Garden have been growing Mandaamin (corn), okosimaan (squash), and mashkodesimin (beans) which we will be harvesting together. In addition, there’s opportunities to plant trees and make art throughout the day. Festival Agenda 12:00-3:00 pm Tree planting and giveaway 3:00 - 5:00 pm Art making and Indigenous earth work with Sweetgrass Collective 5:00 - 8:00 pm Feast and BCCF Film Launch with Earth to Tables Legacies Due to COVID-19 public health measures, we are only able to host a maximum of 50 people on site.
