Spring ahead time change for the clocks this Sunday March 14th. Perfect time to check the functionality of your Smoke/CO2 detectors and replace the battery’s. You should also check the expiry date. Detectors should be replaced every 10 years or less if specified by manufacture.

Most home cooking fires involve the stove. Stay in the kitchen while you are frying, boiling, grilling, or broiling food. If you need to leave the kitchen, turn off the stove!

Reminder to change your smoke detector batteries when you change your clocks this weekend.

Have a small grease fire in the kitchen? *Turn off the burner *Keep a pot lid nearby while cooking and safely put the lid on it! * If it's small and manageabl...e, pour baking soda or salt over it to smother the fire. *spray the fire with a Class B dry chemical fire extinguisher * If you feel the fire is too big, or you do not have the resources listed above, get out and call 911!
