We are excited to continue the IDS 360 series, proudly presented by @volvocarcanada, with the Toronto-based design agency @arc.and.co. Founded by Annie Chou @annniechoouchuou and Robert Cortez, this interdisciplinary first started off their company with a focus on brand design and packaging. They then ventured into exhibit design when they partnered with @IDSToronto to launch to very first @designboom mart in Canada. Arc & Co. Design Collective fuses artistic proficiency wi...th technical expression through the process of design engineering, with an aim to surpass surface-level concepts and produce forward-thinking creative output. Their design approach is to listen emphatically and to create an environment for creative exchange to yield desired outcomes for their clients. Since then, the firm has gone on to win multiple awards for their exhibits with @blancocanada, @wynnaudio and #MarvinWindows. Their latest work features the @manoloblanik installation for the @batashoemuseum and a complete food delivery package system @pac.and.go. Follow us on our Instagram stories today as they share their design philosophy and process. #Instagramtakeover #IDSToronto #IDSTakeover #design #architecture #branding #exhibitdesign #packaging #installation

Hot off the press! In a way, I’m excited, says Jody Phillips, the director of IDS Vancouver. This gives us a chance to be creative, do more intimate setups in small venues, and meet the design community where they are. Sometimes, quite literally. One of the events, an architectural tour, takes places in the new home of Ross Bonetti, co-founder of Livingspace, one of Vancouver’s favourite furniture stores. IDS Vancouver director, Jody Phillips’ 1st purchase back as an art student, working as a gallery assistant was Maynard’s 1993 print, ‘Spring is Coming’. 20 years later, Jody and Maynard sat down to talk ancestry, design, and how this pandemic, some twenty years after Jody was first introduced to Maynard’s work, could and should affect syst...emic change. Announcement These are unprecedented times and as a result, we have all had to pivot and become more innovative in our approach to business and our clients. After consulting with our community, it has become clear that the best way to support design in Canada with both a large-scale physical event and a virtual component, is to move our dates from January 2021 into the spring season to May 13-16, 2021.... Based on findings from our extensive survey as well as focus groups with our community of partners, trade attendees and design enthusiasts, we know that our community wants to get together in person to meet and do business at IDS. The reinvented IDS21 will bring the latest and most innovative ideas, products and trends to market. A hub for changemakers, design experts and visionaries, IDS has always focused on highlighting diverse voices and points of view to its audience and this year will be no different. With its ear to the ground, IDS21 will be an important platform for the pressing conversations that society is facing through groundbreaking products, keynotes and conference tracks.
