With domestic demand in 2020 below that of 2005, the lies of BC Hydro’s spin doctors about demand growth are exposed by the company’s audited sales numbers. Site C power seems promised to natural gas producers and processors at less than 6 per KWh, which would result in operating losses at Site C approaching $500 million a year. Those could double if BC’s surplus power is dumped in export markets that are taking advantage of low-cost solar and wind power. With certainty of billions to be lost by completing Site C, the obvious choice is to suspend the project immediately. It would be the least-cost option https://in-sights.ca/20//21/site-c-losses-will-be-massive/

The private power fiasco is so bad in 2020 that even BC Hydro is singing the IPP blues. Remember, this is a company that prefers to hide faults rather than disclose them. May 11, the province’s main utility issued a press release titled Demand Dilemma. In addition to soft demand that has plagued BC Hydro for 15 years, the coronavirus recession has severely cut amounts of electricity used in western North America. BC Hydro admits it is now experiencing unprecedented decline ...in electricity demand. The IPP deals create a large problem, one that critics have known since the beginning. https://in-sights.ca//billions-lost-bad-luck-incompetence/

In 1995, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates was the richest man in the world, worth $12.9 billion, an amount equivalent to $20.4 billion in 2020 dollars. In 2019, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos was reportedly worth $156 billion before his $38 billion divorce settlement. In real dollars, 7.6 times more than Gates’ wealth 25 years ago. Forbes now ranks 42 people with more than $20 billion...... https://in-sights.ca/2020/03/15/vulnerable-societies/
