When I was first introduced to the Insurance business, I had little to no knowledge on the topic. So, when I was approached by an agent to look into our existing policies, I had no idea what I was getting into. Literally! Not knowing what I had in place and what it was being replaced with we went ahead with the agent, trusting their expertise.... Later, we found out that we would be overpaying for a costly Whole life plan when our initial Term insurance would have sufficed. For a quick commission cheque the agent took advantage of us and for a short period of time we were under insured and paying for an overprized Whole life policy. After this experience, I vowed to do things differently. I could see the benefit of having proper protection and have seen people being taken care of by having a policy in place incase of the unfortunate.
