Hello friends! I'm baaack! I'm hitting the Local 107.3fm airwaves tomorrow night from 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm with my very special guest Joanna Killen to talk about her involvement in the Saint John music community and more! If you don't know Joanna, here's a little bio: Joanna Killen grew up with a musical family and was the lead in many high school and community theatre productions. She formed a band alongside Tyler Crawford and Adam Mowery in 2004 called The Port City Allstars. ...The band began playing shows featuring an acoustic bass, guitar, Adam's Dad's boots and a glass washboard with a hairbrush. They never plugged in at shows and quickly became known for their high energy performances. The band produced 3 albums, Hello...In Mono, Mish Mash, On Safari and one Christmas compilation with a rockstar list of Saint John artists contributing. Every album was self recorded and produced right down to the packaging. The band went their separate ways and Joanna continued on as Joanna Banana, producing 1 solo record 'Joanna Banana's 1st Record' and being part of Adam and the Accidents in 2005/6, playing more shows around the Maritimes and was featured by CBC. Since then Joanna has formed a company that supports artists and recently attended the American Independent Music Associations 'Indie Week' in NYC to represent Leonty (Rose Hastreiter). Be sure to tune in tomorrow night to hear the full interview!
