Reminder// negative self talk has a bad impact on our bodies and it’s important we begin to reframe what we say to ourselves! Change the narrative and you change your life! Consciously awaken and try and see when your mind slips this week and call it back - because each time you do so you’re also calling your energy and power back too.

Why am I studying Naturopathic Medicine? Because too many times I went into a doctors office unheard... I had too many friends sick and not listened to, and I w...ould cry every time I read about soil degradation and children being raised with zero education about the simple solutions to their health - in food. I am becoming a doctor not because I love the long nights, juggling family life and school or because of the money (because damn I was making good money so many times before I left to pick school again)... I am choosing it because its MY passion zone of the change I want to see... What is your space/place.. and where is your capacity to change things in this world? Empathy is not enough. Being "good" is not enough. It is time for us to chop wood and carry water. Do the hard stuff and share the work load instead of wondering why mental health issues, economic despair and physical illness is sky rocketing. Do. The. Work..... Pick something.. anything... we need you. Every single one of you..

Have you ever wanted to find answers, solutions or a cure to your ailments so bad it stresses you the heck out?! Yeah... me too... but we have to stop that. . . Our bodies don’t understand we are trying to help them out by overthinking, over-stressing and too much worrying. It negatively impacts every cell in our bodies. INSTEAD we need to relax into the feelings of wellness and give way to healing. Hold onto that moment of relief a little longer, stretch, massage and soot...he that tension, and sink into those moments of release. It is in those times we gain an inch, a foot or a mile in the right direction. . . #healing #selfhealing #reiki #mindshift #mindset #mindsetiseverything #changeofmind #growthmindset #quote #quoteoftheday #nutritionist #rhn #vancouvernutritionist #nature #aliveagain #chronicillness #chronicpain #mentalhealth #mentalillness #vancity #kelowna #quoted #writer #author See more

A lot has changed since I was younger. This photo for example I think I was 23? Since then I have Finished a degree in Business (Entrepreneurial Management), started my own business, got married, had a baby, started a herbalism course, finished reiki, went vegetarian for a year, substantially cut out meat since, learned a massive amount on nutrition (RHN!), entered into a Naturopathic Medical program, made money in the stock market, bought a VW vintage bus and so many other... wonderful things. In that time I have also: had multiple failed retreats due to external forces, had a wedding cancel, lost my grandfather to cancer, got hit with chronic fatigue and migraines, started school 3 years later then initially planned, failed courses, lost the money made in that stock market - to the stock market lol poured money into a business with little return to get it running before school, spent god knows how much on education, lost myself in a world of emotions post partum, and have floated on and off from depression in those last 8-9 years. Thing is - life is this mess of a roller coaster and for all ya’ll out there you know I LOVE transparency. There is dark and light in all things. See if I didn’t learn about nutrition and how to care for myself properly- my fatigue and migraines would probably have spiralled me into a massive depression. If I didn’t know how to be open and ask for help, love and support, I would have had a hard time getting over my grandfathers death. If I didn’t know how to slow down and process my demons so to speak and past traumas I wouldn’t be the mother I am today nor know how to raise a healthy, balanced child for our FUTURE. My darks would have been sooo much darker if I didn’t put in the work, and I see what happens to myself when I don’t. Lets not forget about the work that is needed to not only feel the change but BE THE CHANGE - XO. And let’s not forget that we need those dark times to show us truths in our souls that needs to be surfaced and released.

Hello fellow mom friends: A girlfriend of mine Sia Foryoh has started a group @momletstalk, and I will be helping co-facilitate Zoom calls, and meetings to open up this platform. Mom Let’s Talk is an inclusive space for moms of all cultures to share stories & narratives in a place of solidarity & raise our children to foster a brighter future.... I encourage you to join for those who are interested in hearing different stories, answering questions and focusing on how we can raise our children better to be in more supportive and inclusive environments. I have been watching us as society shift through issues from abortions, environment, covid and now racism in the last year and this is one topic I do not want to just blow over. Lets continue these conversations into the future and work towards a change. XO See more

Dear white friends// Please don’t just cool off. Please don’t feel so overwhelmed in the last few weeks that you get a breather and think fewf that was stressful. Please don’t go back to life as usual... please stay awake. Please keep educating yourselves on both black and First Nations history. Please keep your eyes open to those around you. Please think outside your group of friends and expand your bubble. Please try new food, experience new culture and not just when trav...elling but in your own city. Please stay awake, because by doing so we begin to also look inside. Please, don’t face paint your instagrams with black lives matter like a mask and wash it off the next day because it’s too heavy on your skin. Please. Please begin reading. Begin educating, begin refocusing your energy, begin building an inclusive and diverse community. Actually building - not just saying your totally open to it..... Begin to love. To show love. To be love. To be the change. I know you can do this. I believe you in you. Stay focused. Stay awake.

Breathe with me. Take a moment to let your mind be still so that you may set your intention straight. Now is the time for action, for attention to the stirring in your heart, to step into the light and see the strength you have and the greatness within you. Now, more than ever is the time for direction, organization and intent. I have always agreed with the quote fail to plan, plan to fail when you have a goal that is set long term. It doesn’t matter if the path changes along the way because it is bound to. What matters is that you adapt and become flexible enough in your approach, but remain focused on the larger scale. This is how change will occur. Consistency, Flexibility, and Focus. If you haven’t heard it yet today I am telling you Listen to your heart, believe in yourself, because you can do this

It’s time for us to become a community. One that supports one another. One that gets to know one another. One that feeds, homes and takes care of one another. . . At the end of your life, it’s community that keeps us alive. Seriously- statistics show this. Let’s begin to step out of our own lives, ones which are putting us into a mental health crisis from so much isolation, and begin to help, love and nurture our neighbours . .... . #communityservice #community #volunteer #nonprofit #givingback #service #giveback #volunteering #love #donate #charity #philanthropy #rotary #makeadifference #volunteers #helpingothers #education #family #socialservice #communityfirst #leadership #communityoutreach #smalltownliving #rid #dogood #politics #loveislove #makeithappen #mumbai #newwestminster

I have never cared for my hair colour.... Wait. Let me correct that. I have always loved my hair colour but thought that I looked better blonde.. light blonde.. bleach blonde. Blonde is better right? My features stand out, I am more attractive. Attractive to who? Men? Women? I will stand out more if I have bleach blonde hair? I died it darker once... yup.. I felt the difference. Honestly, there was a strange difference. I dyed it blonde again. Blonde I will stay... Until I ...had this little babe. A tiny little boy with the same hair colour as me. Same except different because I hide mine. Here I am looking at this beautiful ball of light and I cant help but say you are so perfect just the way you are... you are so perfect just the way you are... You have mami’s hair colour..... WAIT... does that mean I am saying to myself I am not perfect?? I have now had my natural colour for roughly 2 1/2 years now. It was a strange transition growing the blonde out and cutting it all off. It took me a while to adjust and sometimes still does but I get over it mucccch quicker. I stop and smile. Smile at knowing that I am making my own vision of what I find beautiful. That I can now comfortably say that I can dye my hair any colour I want and I will feel the same way. Reclaiming my power that the choice is FOR ME.... Reclaiming. My. Power.
