Have you given up on your goals yet? Not me! I’m not going to let the effects of another lock down destroy all of my hard work or put an end to my dreams and you certainly shouldn’t either. No one seems to know or can predict when we’re going to get back to living what we once knew as normal life and until then, this new abnormal way of life depressing as it is and so overloaded with restrictions, controls pretty much everything we do for now. That said, we still have ...total control on how we stay in shape either through exercise, eating properly or both. Finding some extra time in my day as a result of these restrictions I simply started waking every day in addition to doing my exercise work out at home. Walking makes me feel more energetic. It’s so important to continue to exercise during this lock down period because it will change your ideas, give you something else to think about and as a result, improve your mental health. Exercise makes your immune system stronger and will contribute to your overall health. People who are active and keep their immune system fully charged don’t get sick very often and usually don’t get serious infections either. It’s been proven that the combination of being fit and staying healthy is the #1 defense against COVID 19 and if you are both, it’s severity will be reduced and both will more than likely keep you out of a hospital. Knowing this makes it difficult for me to understand and accept the reasoning behind the government’s order to close gyms. We’ve ALL got to keep exercising, eat healthy following a balance diet, get enough sleep and drink enough water to give our body all the ammo and weapons it needs to fight off any infection. My fitness journey started when I realized that there is no limit or end to wanting to improving oneself. Some look for Quick results, use diet pills or try popular crash diets, waist trainers and even detox protocols but none of those are the answer to weight loss, looking toned and being fit! Who amongst you readers feels incredibly amazing and proud of their achievements after a good and hard work out you do? Who amongst you is winning the battle by eating healthy and fuel...ing their body with the proper foods that generate energy and power? Can you say that you’re proud of the results you see after being so consistent and putting in all that hard work. Please listen to me when I say. Don’t waste your money, time and energy looking for quick fixes or easy ways to get results, THEY DON’T WORK !! Instead, Invest in yourself, Believe in yourself and above all, Do It for yourself. It’s been a little over 10 years now and I’m going to keep going. I’ve learned a lot, got taught a lot and I went through long periods of trial and error to get where I am today. I’ve also learned to listen less to what others say and also pay less attention to what social media an society promotes as images of what they think I should look like or who I should try to copy as a role model. I’m by no means perfect and I’m NOT embarrassed by any of my little flaws. I'm not always motivated to work out, but, the funny thing is that when I'm done, most times I end up having a great work out and I accomplish something special... by making it through to the end which makes me very happy. Next time when you don’t feel like exercising, put you shoes on anyway and just get moving. Do it because it's really worth it! You made a commitment and you need to stick to it, don't let yourself down, prove to yourself that you're a healthy discipline person and that you are committed. It's a powerful thing when you can motivate yourself and overcome your lack of motivation. Stop finding excuses not to exercise.... JUST do it! You got this! You'll feel so much better for it.
