Our neighbours (on the adjacent property to the west of our farm) have filed a proposal with Strathcona County to build a cannabis production facility on agricultural land. While we are not against cannabis, we feel that it should be grown in an industrial area, where there are services in place to meet the needs of such a facility. We believe that there could be significant impacts on air quality, water levels in residential wells, soil contamination, light pollution, and ...decreased property values. After 4 1/2 years employed with Irvine Creeks Farms, Mike is leaving us, and this is his last week. Employed with us since he finished high school, Mike is wanting other experiences therefore is moving on, and we wish him well. Mike has helped us grow our business and there is more work than Jan and Norm can handle. Consequently, we'll be looking to fill his position as our farm hand, and we would like to turn to our customers and friends first.
