Delivering Christmas stockings with Mme. Cook’s Grade 5 class. A wonderful initiative by the teachers and staff of St. Teresa’s School on Mundy Pond Rd. to spread Christmas joy to families and neighbours in the area. If you would like to support this project, consider purchasing artisan greeting cards made by the students of the school. Only $4 for 5 cards. It’s a good deal. I’ve got mine! Email the principal to buy yours.

If nothing else 2020 has been a year of firsts, and some of them have been very enjoyable. Lakecrest Independent School’s Winter Concert is one of those special events. It was the school’s first ever virtual concert and the first virtual school concert I’ve attended. Did I mention it was from the comfort of my own home. Thank you to Head of School, Mr. Patrick Boekhoud, his teachers and staff, parents, and students for putting off such a wonderful concert. The music selectio...ns were great, the performances superb. Ms. Warren and Ms. Parsons are to be congratulated for their fine work. Special thanks to Santa for taking time out of his busy schedule to say a few words. #lakecrest

Another day and another opportunity to get back to my teacher roots and read to another group of students. Today, it was Ms. Kim Fifield’s Grade 6 class in Newtown Elementary School. Thank you for the invitation. I enjoyed reading to you.

Christmas Hamper distribution day for the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - St. Teresa’s Conference. Another not-for-profit organization in my district of St. John’s Centre helping families and individuals in need. It takes many dedicated volunteers to make this day run as smoothly as it does. On traffic detail with Roger - one of those dedicated volunteers.

On the gravy train with Margaret and Ann Marie at the Salvation Army Ches Penney Centre for Hope annual Christmas turkey dinner. Over 300 meals served today by Cheff John Dawe, Captain Tony Brushett and their team. Happy to be a small part of the operation.
