This week, the world woke up to the news of the death of Chadwick Boseman. Many people were inspired by the revelation that he made movies that inspired the world while he battled Colon Cancer. Another man who discovered his life purpose after the diagnosis of a cancer is Terry Fox, a Canadian athlete . Terry Fox was born July 28, 1958. Like The Black Panther, his life was interrupted by the diagnosis of cancer. He got his right leg amputated in 1977 after he was diagnosed wi...th Osteosarcoma. He got an artificial leg and had 16 months of Chemotherapy. The night before his leg was amputated, someone gave him an article about Dick Traum, the first amputee to complete the New York City Marathon. This inspired him greatly. He decided he was not going to give up living because of an amputated leg. During discussions with his doctors, he realised that Osteosarcoma has a bad prognosis, and patients like him have little chances of survival because of the lack of adequate research hampered by limited funding. He decided to do something! He decided to run a marathon across Canada to create awareness and raise fund for Cancer research. The Marathon of Hope! As the day of the Marathon approached, he was noticed to have an enlarged heart during the clinical fitness tests and the doctors informed him of the possibility of a complication to the condition during the Marathon. He promised the doctors he would stop if he notices any problem. In 1980, Terry began the Marathon of Hope around Canada. He ran for 143days (5373km) but was forced to end his run when the cancer spread to his lungs. He hoped to raise 24 million dollars but as at January 2018, the Terry Fox foundation had raised 750 million dollars for Cancer research. He died 9months after the race but his legacy lives forever. There is annual Terry Fox Marathon in over 60 countries. There are so many buildiings, roads, monuments named after the National hero. LESSON: When life gives you a reason to be sad, turn around and give life a thousand reasons why you cannot be defeated! See more

I have seen many people living with colon cancer. I know what they go through. The stress of the surgery, the side effects of the chemotherapy.. the constant vomiting, hair loss, severe weakness and fatigue.. I would have understood if he gave up living.. if he threw in the towel and blamed God or the devil for his fate... but if he did that, he would have ended up as just another patient that died of cancer... But No he didnt! Why would he have given up when he has the spirit of the ancestors? How would he give up when he is the epitome of strength? How would he have given up when he knew his purpose on earth? How would he have given up when he knew who he was? THE BLACK PANTHER!!! An inspiration to all.. For 4 long years, Colon cancer couldnt hold him down because he refused to make excuses!!! What is your excuse for giving up?

There is this amazing story I read from Steve Covey. Its about a tennis tournament in New York City's Madison square garden in january 1982, where top ranked tennis players named Vitas Gerrulaitis and Eliot Teltscher met in the semifinals. The game was tough and even. It was a draw after the 1st two sets! In the deciding 3rd set, Gerulaitis hit a ball dat struck the top of the net and dribbled over for what seem to be a match winner but Teltscher ran close 2 the net, dived at... the ball and miraculously managed to loft the ball over Gerulaitis's head. Gerulaitis was stunned! He tried but it was too late to return the ball to Teltscher's court! The crowd went nut! There was jubilation! Teltscher had won! As the jubilation subsided, Teltscher indicated that when he ran forward to miraculously save d ball, he touched the net which is a violation of d rules! The umpire didn't see this but for Teltscher, it didn't matter! All he was concerned abt was his doing the right thing. He shook Gerulaitis's hand, nodded to the crowd and walked off d court! LESSON: integrity is a vital part of life. It is the reason why communities prosper. The absence of integrity breeds corruption which kills generations! It doesn't really matter how holy we are on sundays and fridays. What count is what we do when we think nobody will find out! It is well with u See more

Have you ever seen the movies with incredible Hulk? Do you notice how the weak, shy man transforms into a huge super powerful incredible?.. Yeah.. Its all movies right?.. Wrong! The cartoon character called Incredible Hulk was created by Jack Kirby in 1962. Kirby saw something incredible which gave birth to the idea of Incredible Hulk. He saw a frail woman lift a car off her baby during an accident through a phenomenon known as Hysterical strength. Hysterical strength is ...the display of EXTREME STRENGHT by humans beyond what is normal when faced with a life and death situation. There have been documented cases of superhuman strength by ordinary people during life and death situations. Lydia Angiyou once fought a polar bear to save her children. She never knew she had such a strength within her and wouldn't have believed it if someone told her earlier. Austin Smith, a 15year old lifted a car to save his grandfather. Ceal Stuckless a 72 year old man with atrophic muscles lifted a jeep to save his son in law! Hysterical strength has been linked to a surge in Adrenaline level which prompt parts of the body to work at great energy level.. LESSON: There is a great level of strength deep within all of us. We subconsciously suppress this strength and limit ourselves but if we believe in ourselves and let lose of our fears, these super human strength will come to our aid.. YOU CAN DO ALL THINGS. You have the strength in you! Just believe.. See more
