North Meets South Exchange Program Summer 2018 : In partnership with Canadian Roots Exchange, the Jr. EC created a new program for Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth to come together and actualize change. This two-week exchange program connected 20 high school and university students from Ontario to participate in immersive workshops designed to equip them with key policy decision making skills. The program allowed for Indigenous and Non-Indigenous youth to learn from ea...ch other and address the issues that truly matter to them. With key public policy experts as mentors, students developed their own policy with a generational voice. The program culminated with a presentation of their policy in front of executive leaders, change makers and senior government officials for a chance to win academic scholarships and to have their policy addressed nationally. We love bringing the most current political discussions to the Economic Club community. Last February the ECC hosted Federal Finance Minister, Hon. Bill Morneau, for a post-budget discussion moderated by our President & CEO, @rhiannonredefined. ... This Friday Ontario Finance Minister, Hon. Vic Fedeli, will provide his first formal speech from the EC stage! If you are unable to attend in person, you can tune into our Facebook livestream to hear Minister Fedeli’s update on the current state of Ontario’s finances in bio #onpoli #financeminister #educateinspireconnect See more

#FridayFeature 11.28.18 The Economics of Equality: Advancing Women & Girls to Change the World ... The ECC is so proud of this exclusive event with Former First Lady @michelleobama where decision makers & top Canadian business leaders, who are dedicated to the advancement of women & girls, gathered together with the youth leaders of Canada to have an in-depth discussion about all that is possible when women & girls have equal opportunity. As a part of the ECC’s partnership with @plancanada, we ensured that with every ticket purchased, a complementary ticket was given to a young person to attend the event for free. The ratio of youth to regular ticket holder was 1:1This structure fulfills The ECC’s mandate to encourage thoughtful discussion within Canada’s business community & provides meaningful learning opportunities for youth through the Jr. Economic Club of Canada #equalitytalks #educateinspireconnect See more
