I haven't been posting to my facebook photo page nearly as much I as I did in the past. Most of my newest work has been posted to my instagram account. While I do plan to resume posts to facebook, the majority of new work will still be posted on instagram. I use it primarily as an online portfolio so you won't be bombarded with ads and contests and all that... www.instagram.com/jsymphotog/... I was honoured to read this post by my friend Devon Marie. As an artist, these are the compliments that have the biggest impact on me. Sure it's great to be able to share the images, but truthfully much of my work stays private between my model and I. Creating work that has an impact on someone and changes their outlook on themselves is a much greater reward then a collection of likes. I am blessed to have crossed paths with Devon Marie - we have collaborated a few times in studio as well as underwater and created beautiful work together. I am happier still to know I've built a friendship with a beautiful and kind soul.

Tonight is the reception for the 12th Annual Gallery Show at @nancyjohnsgallery - please join me tonight at 7pm. This is my fifth year proudly hanging work in this event. It would mean a lot for my friends to stop by, say hello and see my work first hand. There is no cost or tickets to attend, although you may see some local work you love and be inspired to purchase some art as the talent is world class.

This will be the 5th year in a row that I've been a represented artist at Nancy John's Gallery - and a participant in this annual show. Please mark your calendars for it and stop by Thursday November 14th between 7-10pm. I'll be showing an art piece I shot in Utah this past September that hasn't been publicly shown and is the single largest photograph I've ever produced to date. Hope to see you there! :)
