Happy Thursday! For those who may be wondering, yes I am still pregnant! I'm feeling great & baby is one heck of a mover! ... The last leg of pregnancy can often be hard, but so can life sometimes! Take time for yourself, do the things you love, care for yourself physically & emotionally and grant yourself permission to not always be on top of it all!
Did you know that the more muscle you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate? When talking about weight loss, everyone thinks cardio - "Run away the fat". When in reality you should really be thinking...Build muscle mass. ... When you increase your muscle mass, you boost your resting metabolism -- and that makes your body burn more calories. Let's break it down. It's estimated that at rest, 1 pound of muscle can burn 6 calories per day, whereas 1 pound of fat, burns around 2 calories per day. Swap out the fat pounds with muscle and you burn more calories in a day. So next time you head to the gym thinking, I'll just run away the fat, think about adding in some strength exercises to build up your muscles & metabolic rate. . . . You can find a variety of on-demand strength workouts on my website! Do them as many times as you want, whenever you have the time & wherever you have space!
