About Me! Hi Everyone! My name is Kaila McManus and I am the founder of Kaila’s Swim School. Four years ago I founded and put into action a private swimming lesson business growing from 5 clients in my first year, to 72 consistent clients over the past three years. Through this swim school I have gained entrepreneurial skills through managing all aspects of the business including sales, marketing, accounting, website development, customer relationship management and network...ing. More importantly though, I have felt great pleasure and joy getting to know my students and their families and seeing the progression over the summer months. I am honoured that my clients have enough trust in me to teach their children one of the most important skills in life. During our 2016 season, Kaila’s Swim School was accepted to the ‘Summer Company Mentorship Program’ presented by the Government of Ontario where I received hands on business training from successful business leaders and financial support of $3,000. This program made me both a better business owner, and a better teacher. I am currently 21 years-old and in my fourth year of study at Queen’s University. I am a positive and dedicated individual with exceptional time management skills when balancing academics, social life, and work commitments. I enjoy teaching swimming lessons due to my strong communication skills. In my spare time, I like to read, workout, attend hot-yoga, travel, cook and spend time with my friends and family. I look forward to meeting you and your children this upcoming season!
