We often get asked "Why Kal's Epoxy?" Or "What's with the elephant?" The story began exactly one year ago, January 22, 2020. Co-owner Manni and his wife Gurpreet lost their beloved son at 20 weeks, after the doctors reported he no longer had a heartbeat. Absolutely devastated, Gurpreet was soon induced and birthed their beautiful son, Kalveer, AKA, Kal. Both mom and dad were given the opportunity to spend time together as a family before saying their goodbyes. As devastating... as this news was, time helped with the healing process. Fast forward to November 2020, Jas and Manni collaborated together to start a custom flooring business. Amy (Jas's wife) decided the best way to pay tribute and immortalize their nephew was to name the company "Kal's Epoxy." And with Kal's uncle creating the logo and Gurpreet making the SWAG for the company, everyone contributed a tiny piece to his memory, for he took a piece of us that day he went to heaven. And as for the elephant? It was simply a theme his parents had chosen for his room and toys; now, an emblem that will carry his legacy of family and strength. We wanted to share this story with you because we truly are a family business and we appreciate families allowing us to enter and transform their homes. This also allows us to bring awareness to the reality of infant loss.
